A restored 1962 desert house built around a stone courtyard and pool.

The house was built in 1962 and restored in 2022 by owners who kept its original plan. The rooms wrap around a stone courtyard with a long pool, palms and desert planting, so almost every room looks out onto water and shade.

The restoration replaced the plumbing, wiring, roof and all of the glass, and added insulation that the original house never had. The kitchen is new but keeps the low lines of the period, with walnut cabinets and terrazzo counters.

There are four bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, which makes the house popular with families who come out for long weekends. A shaded outdoor dining area at the end of the pool has views to the San Jacinto Mountains.
